Please join me and like minded people from across the country on what should be the
biggest climate march in the UK so far! If you’ve never been on a march before, it is legal
and will be great fun.
Maybe a million people will show the world politicians at the Copenhagen meeting the
following week that we want them to sort out the future of the planet so that humankind
can continue to exist as we know it. They have to ensure ensure that our children can lead
full lives.
You may know of my list of 19 perils that I demand that world leaders sort out. They are
melting permafrost releasing vast amounts of greenhouse gases, deforestation, loss of polar
ice making us warmer, unstable weather, horrific flooding, rising sea levels, disruption of the
system of ocean currents, devastated wildlife, increased chance of nuclear conflict,
fanatical terrorism, starvation causing food wars, insufficient drinking water, overfishing,
acidic seas, new diseases, old diseases moving north, additional coal-fired power stations,
the use of irreplaceable fossil fuels rather than renewable energy (from wind, water and
sun) and the population explosion of a miilion and a half extra mouths every WEEK or a rise
in my lifetime from some 2 billion to nearly 7 billion.
On Sat 5 Dec, my wife Pauline and I shall be catching the 0959 from Bracknell Station to
Waterloo (sitting in the third carriage from the front) having brought a One Day Travel Card.
I’ll be wearing a Green Party rosette on my dark blue jacket and a dark green polo necked
jumper.
The speeches should start at noon in Grosvenor Square. The speakers will be the best there
are. The Main March starts leaves Grosvenor Square at 1.00 pm to surround Parliament for
“The Wave” at 3.00 pm. Ends by 4.30 pm. It’s all legal – trust me I’m a politician!
David Young.
